Information you provide. If you subscribe to our newsletter, we collect your email address and the topic you subscribed from. Subscriptions use double opt-in: we only add you to a list after you confirm via the email we send. If you contact us or register interest as a therapist, we collect the information you submit (such as name, email, and practice details).

Information collected automatically.Like most websites, we receive standard technical data such as IP address, browser type, pages viewed, and referring pages. We use Google Analytics to understand how the site is used in aggregate (for example, which articles are read most). We also store a random visitor identifier and reading-interest counters in your browser’s local storage so we can suggest relevant topics; this data stays in your browser and is not tied to your name or email unless you subscribe.

Self-assessments and tools. Answers you enter in our self-assessments and calculators are processed in your browser to show your result. We do not store your individual answers or results on our servers.

We display advertising through Google AdSense. Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this and other websites. Google’s use of the advertising cookie (such as the DoubleClick cookie) enables it and its partners to serve ads based on your visits to this site and/or other sites on the internet.

We use a small number of service providers to run the site: Google Analytics (site analytics), Google AdSense (advertising), Mailgun (newsletter delivery), and Google Cloud (hosting). Each provider processes data only as needed to provide its service.

• Newsletter: unsubscribe via the link in any email or at /subscribe. Unsubscribing removes you from future sends.
• Local storage:clear your browser’s site data to remove the visitor identifier and interest counters.
• Analytics: you can use Google’s Analytics opt-out browser add-on.
• Access or deletion: email us (see Contact) to ask what information we hold about you or to request deletion. Depending on where you live (for example, the EU/EEA, UK, or California), you may have additional legal rights to access, correct, or delete your personal information, and we honor those requests.

Newsletter records are kept while your subscription is active and removed or anonymized after you unsubscribe. Aggregate analytics data is retained per Google Analytics’ standard retention settings. We use industry-standard safeguards (HTTPS everywhere, access controls) to protect the information we hold.

The site is intended for a general adult audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us and we will delete it.

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by the “Last updated” date at the top of this page.
